Here is a taste of how the Lord has used the books we read to change my heart over the last 7 months. Hope you enjoy them!
The Jesus Style: “Humility is simply seeing ourselves as we actually are, not higher or lower.”
The Calvary Road: “Perhaps someone annoyed me, and I was irritated. God wants me to see that it was not the thing that the person did that matters, but my reaction to it. If I had been broken, I would not have been irritated.”
Have a Mind to Suffer: “… being willing to suffer is not the same thing as suffering itself. It simply means that before God I have a desire of being willing to endure hardship, difficulty or trial for the Lord….Whoever has this mind may not in fact suffer, yet in his mind and heart he has committed himself to do so gladly for the Lord.”
Learning to Pray: “We are talking to a Father who is closer to us than our own thoughts. He is near, so near that no words can describe it.”
Before You Hit the Wall: “He [God] doesn’t want Christians to be carbon copies of each other, but unique expressions of Him.”
Touching Godliness Through Submission: “We cannot say we submit to God and at the same time, on the inside, live a life of insubordination and rebellion toward the authority God has placed over us.”

Gospel For Asia staff and the School of Discipleship Student were blessed to have Francis Chan share about the Love of the Father. One of our staff said “I was moved by the thought that God is the giver and sustainer and that our service to the Lord can and should always be a joy and never a burden.”

Hi! Welcome to the School of Discipleship blog! You may get “lost” in all this new stuff, so here are a few pointers to help you get started.
The School of Discipleship is a one year life-changing opportunity for young people ages 18-27. As a student your walk with the Lord will be deepened through interacting with some of the most dedicated, missions-minded people in the country. You will attend classes taught by passionate leaders and have opportunities for personal, one-on-one evangelism. You will also have the opportunity to hear from Gospel for Asia guest speakers like Francis Chan, David Platt and Chuck Smith.
During the year you will take a two-week trip to Asia to see first hand how your part in the office is having an impact on eternity – thousands of children set free and saved from a life of bonded labor, clean drinking water provided to thousands who had none, lives once devastated by natural disaster, now receiving help and experiencing the love of Christ. And most importantly, you will see how thousands of national missionaries are bringing the love of Christ each day to millions who have never heard about Jesus! These are just a few of the many things that you, as a School of Discipleship Student, would get to be a part of.
